MEC Publishes Fies Pre-Selected List for Second Semester

Overview

• The Ministry of Education published the list of pre-selected candidates on Thursday, July 30, and set a four-day window for complementation that runs from July 31 to 23:59 on August 4.
• Pre-selected applicants must finish or complement their applications on the Fies Seleção site using a Gov.br login to move toward contract steps for the financing.
• This edition offered 75,500 vacancies for the second semester as part of more than 112,000 Fies places in 2026 and covered 1,274 private institutions and 28,741 course offerings.
• The selection recorded 315,431 applications from 127,175 applicants, with women making up 67.5% and more than 72,000 candidates self‑declaring as Black or brown; affirmative measures reserve 50% of some vacancies for CadÚnico families at up to half a minimum wage and provide up to 100% financing under Fies Social.
• Candidates who miss the complementation window are automatically placed on the waiting list, which will be processed for new pre-selections from August 7 to September 24, and inquiries can be made to MEC via 0800-616161.
