Measles Outbreak in West Midlands Prompts Call for TikTok Vaccine Campaign

Measles cases in the West Midlands have reached their highest level since the mid-1990s, with 216 confirmed and 103 probable cases since October 1.
Birmingham MP Jess Phillips has called for a TikTok campaign to boost the uptake of the MMR vaccine, as the city has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the UK.
Phillips also suggested that spreading vaccine misinformation should be a criminal offence.
Dame Jenny Harries, chief executive of the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), stated that vaccination rates are well below the World Health Organization's recommended 95% coverage.
The UKHSA has declared a state of emergency due to the measles outbreak and falling vaccination rates.
