Officials urge potentially exposed people to verify immunity, then monitor for symptoms for 21 days.

Overview

  • Philadelphia health officials reported potential exposure on Jan. 7 at Philadelphia International Airport Terminal A East (7:50–11 p.m.), 30th Street Station (8:15–11:25 p.m.), and on a southbound Amtrak Northeast Regional between the 9:23 p.m. stop and 11:30 p.m.
  • Maryland identified potential exposure on the Amtrak Northeast Regional from Philadelphia to Washington, the BWI Amtrak shuttle between 10:45 p.m. Jan. 7 and 1:30 a.m. Jan. 8, and the BWI Airport long‑term parking shuttle between 11 p.m. Jan. 7 and 2 a.m. Jan. 8.
  • Maryland officials said no exposures were identified inside BWI Airport terminals, and people outside the listed locations and times were not exposed in Maryland.
  • Philadelphia’s health commissioner said there is no identified threat to the general public and advised those possibly exposed to confirm protection, with two MMR doses or birth before 1957 generally considered immune.
  • Separately, Georgia confirmed its first measles case of 2026 in an infant from the Coastal Health District infected during international travel, with contact tracing underway as officials note the U.S. logged 2,144 cases in 2025, mostly among the unvaccinated.
