Overview
- Ramp closures run from 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, to 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, affecting entrances at Couzens, Bermuda/Hilton, M-1 (Woodward), Coolidge, Greenfield, Southfield and Evergreen, with the I-75 ramps to westbound I-696 also closed from 4 a.m. Saturday.
- During the weekend, westbound I-696 is closed from I-75 to Lahser Road with a signed detour via southbound I-75, westbound M-8 (Davison Freeway) and northbound M-10 (Lodge Freeway).
- Depending on progress and weather, westbound traffic shifts to the rebuilt eastbound lanes late Sunday or Monday morning, with three lanes operating from I-75 to Lahser Road starting 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17.
- After the shift, access for westbound drivers is limited to I-75, M-1 (Woodward Avenue), Southfield Road and the US-24 (Telegraph Road)/M-10 (Lodge Freeway)/Lahser Road complex.
- Several westbound entrance and exit ramps — including Couzens, Bermuda/Hilton, Coolidge, Greenfield and Evergreen — remain closed through late 2026, with MDOT targeting overall rebuild completion in 2026 and additional work in 2027 between I-75 and Dequindre Road.
