MCO Puts First Upgraded Gate Link Tram Into Service as Work Continues
The airport has expanded an approved visitor-pass program to let non-fliers into post-security areas during set hours.
Overview
- Orlando International Airport began operating the first replacement Gate Link tram serving Gates 100–129 on Oct. 1, 2026, while crews rebuild the second track for those gates.
- The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority plans to keep work on Gates 100–129 through December 2026 and to modernize Gates 70–99 in 2027, so phased construction will continue over the next year.
- GOAA’s continuity plan uses accessible shuttle buses and scheduled maintenance windows to move passengers when tram service is reduced or unavailable.
- The Experience MCO Visitor Pass now covers Terminals A, B and C, requires advance TSA-reviewed applications, allows approved visitors in from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and requires departure from terminals by 8 p.m.
- Disney-bound travelers should allow extra time and check airline and airport advisories because gate assignments, temporary shuttle operations, and the end of Disney’s Magical Express mean guests must arrange their own transfers and may face different pickup or baggage routing during construction.
