Overview

• McLaren has teamed with Dallara for its LMDh chassis and entrusted United Autosports to run two twin-turbo V6 Hypercar prototypes in the World Endurance Championship from 2027.
• James Barclay, who led Jaguar’s Formula E squad, will take over as team principal of McLaren’s Hypercar operation in September.
• Ford has appointed ORECA as its chassis partner for a full factory campaign that will mark its first shot at overall Le Mans glory in over 40 years.
• Dan Sayers, former Red Bull Powertrains programme director and ex-Aston Martin Racing technical chief, has been named head of Ford’s WEC Hypercar project.
• Both marques aim to debut on the WEC grid in 2027 with extensive testing through 2026 and target outright victories at endurance classics including Le Mans.
