Overview

• Shortly before 12:30 a.m., a red 2006 Audi collided with a black 2015 Nissan Sentra and then struck an unoccupied 2003 Toyota Echo at Richmond Road and McCullom Lake Road.
• A 19-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy were pronounced dead at the scene by the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
• The Audi’s sole occupant, an 18-year-old man, was taken to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital with critical injuries.
• Firefighters from McHenry Township Fire Protection District and McHenry police officers led rescue efforts during a partial road closure at the intersection.
• The McHenry County Regional Crash Assistance Team has joined the coroner’s office in the investigation and is urging anyone with information to contact the police investigation division or the anonymous tip line.
