McDonald’s Japan Teases Evangelion Collaboration Featuring Transforming Mecha Figures

McDonald’s Japan has teased a collaboration with the iconic anime franchise Neon Genesis Evangelion, as revealed in a December 17 social media post featuring 'Project EVA' copyright text.
Leaked promotional materials confirm the collaboration will include three mecha figures that transform into McDonald’s menu items like a Big Mac, fries, and a drink.
The limited-edition figures will cost $25 each and will be offered through a lottery system accessible via the McDonald’s Japan app from December 19 to January 10, 2024.
Winners of the lottery will have the opportunity to purchase the figures between January 20 and January 26, 2024, with no indication of availability outside Japan.
This collaboration follows a series of anime-themed promotions by McDonald’s, including partnerships with Yu-Gi-Oh, Hello Kitty, and Dragon Ball earlier this year.
