MCC Extends NEET-PG 2025 Round 1 Choice Filling Pending Seat-Matrix Revision

The Supreme Court ordered NBE to file an affidavit detailing its answer-key publication policy.

Overview

  • The MCC said the extension follows new information from NMC and NBE, including the withdrawal of 169 PG DNB seats after Round 1 began.
  • MCC will rework the seat matrix, remove excess seats, reapply the reservation roster, and post a revised Round 1 schedule on mcc.nic.in.
  • State PG counselling timelines will also be recalibrated, with updated schedules to be published on the MCC website.
  • The bench of Justices P S Narasimha and Vipul Pancholi directed NBE to explain its stance on releasing answer keys, keeping transparency issues before the court.
  • NBE’s counsel told the court that demands for answer keys are driven by coaching institutes and could compromise exam integrity, as candidate groups and FAIMA criticized the prolonged delays.
