Mazda Adds Entry-Level CX-60 G25 in Australia With Rear-Drive 2.5-Litre
Mazda forecasts the new variant to lead CX-60 sales at a $47,990 driveaway entry.
Overview
- The G25 is offered in Pure, Evolve and Touring trims, with national drive-away pricing only for Pure at $47,990 and higher grades priced plus on-road costs.
- The 2.5-litre four-cylinder produces 138 kW and 250 Nm, claims 7.5 L/100 km and 173 g/km CO2, drives the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic, and lowers kerb weight to 1,847 kg.
- Mazda’s sales-mix guidance projects G25 at 34% of CX-60 volume, followed by G40e at 29%, P50e at 20% and D50e at 17%.
- The company has ruled out offering this 2.5-litre engine in the CX-70, CX-80 or CX-90 due to lack of factory engineering and suitability for the larger, heavier models.
- Early reviews cite solid urban performance and value but note strained acceleration when loaded, lower-grade cabin materials in base trims and some low-speed transmission fussiness.
