Mayer Gaman Carnival Closes Tripura's Durga Puja With Peaceful Immersion

- The immersion parade moved from in front of Maharani Tulsibati School to Dashamighat on the Howrah River with about 15 clubs and more than 42 community idols.
- Tripura Police reported roughly 3,000 community pujas statewide this year and deployed an additional 8,000 personnel with CCTV and watchtowers, alongside heightened border vigilance with the BSF.
- The fourth edition of Mayer Gaman, organised by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department since 2022, showcased cultural performances and saw strong participation from Janajati communities.
- Officials said three top clubs and puja organisers from the carnival will receive awards, with a separate Sarad Samman recognising 43 clubs to follow.
