Maurie McInnis Named Yale's First Permanent Female President

She has served as president of Stony Brook University since 2020, leading it through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her tenure at Stony Brook includes securing a $500 million endowment and advancing the university's research capabilities.
McInnis has held leadership positions at the University of Texas and the University of Virginia.
She succeeds Peter Salovey, who is returning to the Yale faculty after 11 years as president.
