Matthew Perry, known for his role in 'Friends', had a particularly happy year before his death, according to close friend Lauren Graham.
Perry took great satisfaction from the success of his memoir, 'Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing', which became a bestseller and returned to the bestseller list after his death.
Perry's cause of death, following his discovery in his hot tub, is still under investigation pending a toxicology report.
Graham, who co-starred with Perry in the 2008 movie 'Birds of America', said she was still in shock at his death but took consolation knowing that 'he leaves his beautiful work behind'.
Perry had a long history of drug and alcohol abuse, which he candidly discussed in his memoir.
