Massive Fire Destroys Wildberries Warehouse in Russia

No casualties reported among 1,600 workers; arson and faulty wiring under investigation

A massive fire has destroyed a large warehouse used by Wildberries, the online retailer known as 'Russia’s Amazon', outside St Petersburg, Russia.
Up to 1,600 people were working in the building when the fire broke out, but no casualties have been reported.
Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading across the entire area of the warehouse complex and to an electrical substation.
Authorities are investigating potential arson as the cause of the fire, with faulty electrical wiring also being considered.
The incident follows a series of fires at Russian warehouses and businesses linked to Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine.
