Overview

• On Monday shortly after 5 p.m., a stolen motorcycle struck Lieutenant David Bossi on Revere Beach Boulevard, propelling him about 45 feet and leaving him critically injured.
• Bossi has since been upgraded to stable condition and is recovering at Massachusetts General Hospital.
• Eighteen-year-old Akram Elmoukhtari appeared at Chelsea District Court and is held on $50,000 cash bail on charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and receiving stolen property.
• State police said two suspects were in custody by Monday evening and confirmed the motorcycle involved was believed to be stolen.
• Governor Maura Healey called the crash a stark reminder of officers’ daily dangers and noted it was the second trooper road-side incident this month.
