  • Risk levels were raised Friday in Arlington, Chelsea, Medford, and Waltham, bringing the statewide count of high‑risk municipalities to 47 and moderate‑risk communities to about 210.
  • Since June 17, surveillance has identified 445 West Nile–positive mosquito samples across Barnstable, Berkshire, Bristol, Dukes, Essex, Franklin, Hampden, Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk, and Worcester counties.
  • Officials note one animal infection in a goat this season and report 23 EEE‑positive mosquito samples with no human or animal EEE cases.
  • Residents are advised to use EPA‑registered repellents, cover exposed skin, avoid dusk‑to‑dawn mosquito activity, reduce standing water, and check the Massachusetts Arbovirus Update for daily risk changes.
