Mass Russian Air Assault Hits Ukraine as Pokrovsk Battles Intensify

Ukraine reports striking a Russian explosives plant and the Feodosiya oil terminal as air defenses downed many incoming weapons but deadly blasts hit multiple regions.

Overview

  • Ukraine’s Air Force reported 53 missiles, including Kinzhals, and roughly 496 attack drones launched overnight, with large numbers intercepted but direct hits recorded at 20 sites.
  • Civilian casualties and damage were confirmed across several regions, including four killed in Lviv region, one dead and more than 10 injured in Zaporizhzhia, two killed and 11 injured in Sumy, and fresh morning shelling that killed a woman near Kherson.
  • The General Staff counted 231 engagements in the last day and 113 by late afternoon Monday, with the Pokrovsk axis the most active where 57 attacks were repelled Sunday and 40 more attempts were logged Monday.
  • Ukraine’s military said it struck Russia’s Sverdlov explosives plant in Dzerzhinsk and set off a major fire at the Feodosiya oil terminal in occupied Crimea, as media also reported drone attacks on sites in Bryansk and Russia’s Krasnodar region.
  • Poland scrambled fighters and raised air-defense readiness as a precaution, while Ukrainian emergency services extinguished most fires, processed hundreds of damage reports, and rail operators rerouted services in hard-hit northern communities.
