Mass Grave of Over 300 Babies and Children Discovered in Oldham

The grave, located in Royton Cemetery, was unearthed by a woman searching for her twin brothers who died in 1962.

The grave contained 146 stillborn babies, 128 babies and young children, and 29 adults.
Bereaved parents were historically denied the right to bury their babies, often unaware of their final resting places.
