He remains in preventive detention pending a Portsmouth District Court arraignment.

Overview

  • Mason Hebert, 22, of Boxford, Massachusetts, was arrested in Portsmouth and charged with reckless conduct, aggravated driving under the influence, and disobeying an officer.
  • State police say a trooper spotted a 2016 BMW X3 traveling over 120 mph on I-95 north in Hampton around 10:20 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
  • The driver allegedly exited at Exit 5, turned off the vehicle’s exterior lights, drove erratically toward the Portsmouth Traffic Circle, and headed south on Route 1.
  • Troopers discontinued the active pursuit for safety, canvassed the area, found the BMW behind a business off Lafayette Road, and arrested Hebert, who was alone in the vehicle.
  • Hebert was ordered into preventive detention at Rockingham County Jail, and investigators asked anyone with information to contact Trooper Cameron Vetter.
