Masked Thieves Intentionally Ram Car on LA Freeway, Conduct Daylight Robbery

Four masked assailants, armed with hammers and crowbars, intentionally rammed and robbed a luxury car on a busy LA freeway; incident caught on camera, suggesting that the victim was specifically targeted for his possessions, authorities are still investigating.

  • On Tuesday on the eastbound I-10, also known as the Santa Monica Freeway, four masked men intentionally rammed a black Alfa Romeo with a Dodge Grand Caravan, forcing the victim off the road and robbing him in broad daylight.
  • The incident was recorded by witnesses, one of whom attempted to pursue the criminals but was unable to keep up.
  • After crashing into the Alfa Romeo, the thieves, armed with hammers and crowbars, emerged from the minivan and began to rummage through the victim's car; meanwhile, the victim could be seen kneeling with his hands up.
  • Approximately 40 seconds after the deliberate crash, the men fled the scene in a heavily tinted white Chevrolet Malibu that was waiting nearby the crash site; they are still at large.
  • While the robbery was initially reported as an armed robbery, further investigation revealed that the thieves were armed with hammers and crowbars, not firearms; the details of what was stolen from the victim have not been disclosed due to the ongoing investigation.
