Overview

• Police say the assault began around 1 a.m. Sunday when a person in a dark hoodie and mask approached a stopped car in Stoneham while wielding a knife.
• The 18-year-old driver and his passenger were stabbed, then drove across the town line into Wakefield before coming to a stop.
• Responders found a gray Chevrolet Trax in Wakefield and transported both victims to area hospitals.
• The driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and the passenger’s injuries were also described as non-life-threatening.
• Stoneham Police and Massachusetts State Police are investigating, with no arrests or motive reported at this time.
