Maryland Woman Arrested in String of Daytime Home Burglaries in Anne Arundel and Howard Counties

Police say public tips from released surveillance videos led to her identification.

Overview

  • Shannon Kira Gough, 43, was arrested on Sept. 26 in Glen Burnie after a search warrant, and officers recovered allegedly stolen items from her home and vehicle.
  • Howard County and Anne Arundel County police filed multiple counts that include first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary, theft and malicious destruction of property.
  • A judge on Monday denied bail, citing five prior first-degree burglary convictions and multiple failures to appear, according to WBAL’s review of the hearing.
  • Investigators linked cases using video that showed the same suspect and a gray Honda Civic she co-owns at one scene, with break-ins reported on Sept. 10 and 17 in Ellicott City and on Sept. 17 in Severna Park.
  • Police say the suspect took items such as laptops, jewelry, a watch, tools and a surveillance camera, and the investigation remains open for additional related incidents.
