Overview
- An indictment dated Oct. 23 was made public Oct. 30, charging the Baltimore Democrat with conspiracy, extortion via interstate communications, aiding and abetting, and unlawful interception and disclosure of a wire.
- Court filings say the plot targeted two unnamed individuals, with threats to release footage obtained after tracking and recording devices were planted.
- Attar, along with co-defendants Joseph Attar and Kalman G. Finkelstein, was listed as in custody in federal court records.
- As of Thursday, no attorney was listed for Attar, her office did not immediately comment, and Senate President Bill Ferguson’s office said it learned of the arrest at the same time as the public.
