Maryland Man Arrested for Assaulting Officers During Jan. 6 Capitol Riot

Thomas Joseph Kelly Jr. faces multiple felony charges after being identified through online sleuths and FBI investigation.

Kelly allegedly used a metal-edged Trump sign to assault police officers, knocking one unconscious.
He also used a long pole to strike officers inside the Capitol's Lower West Terrace Tunnel.
The FBI identified Kelly with help from citizen sleuths and matching distinctive facial moles.
Kelly faces charges including civil disorder, assaulting officers with a deadly weapon, and several misdemeanors.
More than 1,425 individuals have been charged in connection with the Capitol breach, with over 1,019 convictions secured.
