Maryland and Georgetown to Renew Historic Basketball Rivalry in 2025

The four-game series will alternate between College Park and Washington, D.C., reviving a local tradition after nearly a decade.

The rivalry dates back to 1911, with Maryland leading the all-time series 38-27.
The teams will play at Maryland's Xfinity Center in 2025 and 2027, and at Georgetown's Capital One Arena in 2026 and 2028.
Coaches Kevin Willard and Ed Cooley, former Big East rivals, collaborated to restart the series.
Both programs are looking to bounce back from recent disappointing seasons.
The last matchup in 2016 ended in a narrow victory for Maryland.
