'Mary & George' Historical Drama Set for April Premiere on Starz

Julianne Moore and Nicholas Galitzine star in the series based on the true story of Mary and George Villiers' rise to power in 17th century England.

Starz has released a trailer and announced an April 5 premiere date for the historical drama series 'Mary & George', starring Julianne Moore and Nicholas Galitzine.
The series is based on the Benjamin Woolley book 'The King's Assassin' and tells the true story of Mary Villiers, Countess of Buckingham, and her son George Villiers, who schemed and seduced their way to power in the court of King James I in 17th century England.
The series is written by D.C. Moore (Killing Eve) and directed by Oliver Hermanus, with Moore, D.C. Moore, Hermanus and Liza Marshall as executive producers.
In addition to 'Mary & George', Julianne Moore will also star in the upcoming film 'The Room Next Door', directed by Pedro Almodóvar.
The series will premiere at midnight on the Starz app and at 9 p.m. EST on Starz.
