Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Tops US Sales in October, PlayStation 5 Continues Dominance

Despite strong new releases, overall US video game spending dips 5% in October 2023

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was the best-selling game in the US for October 2023, according to the latest report from video game analyst group Circana.
The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console for the same month, continuing its dominance over the Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S.
Despite strong new releases, overall US consumer spending on games fell by 5% in October 2023, largely due to the shifting release dates for the Call of Duty series.
Other notable new releases included Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Assassin's Creed Mirage, UFC 5, NHL 24, and Sonic Superstars, which all debuted in the top ten best-selling games for October.
Year-to-date, the best-selling games of 2023 are Hogwarts Legacy, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Madden NFL 24, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2, in that order.
