Marvel Schedules VisionQuest Over Five Weeks With Extended Finale Runtimes

A condensed release with unusually long final episodes aims to get viewers through the WandaVision trilogy before Avengers: Doomsday.

Overview

  • The eight-episode limited series will debut on Disney+ on Oct. 14 and unfold in batches: two episodes on Oct. 14, two on Oct. 21, two on Oct. 28, then single episodes on Nov. 4 and Nov. 11.
  • Marvel released episode runtimes showing episodes 1–6 run about 45–54 minutes and episodes 7 and 8 run 62 and 68 minutes, the longest runtimes yet for MCU television.
  • A surprise screening of Episode 1 at New York Comic Con produced largely positive early reactions that praised Paul Bettany and James Spader and highlighted the series' mix of humor, philosophy, and visual style.
  • Marvel sent full-season critic screeners under an embargo that lifts on Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. ET, so wide critical consensus will follow after reviews publish later this week.
  • VisionQuest reunites key cast and creative leads and centers on a rebuilt Vision guided by embedded AI personas as he confronts memory, identity, and a young man who may be his son.
