NetEase initially announced a mid-season rank reset for Marvel Rivals, which would drop players by four divisions starting February 21, 2025.
The decision sparked immediate backlash from players on social media and forums, citing concerns about the time required to regain ranks and its impact on competitive enjoyment.
In response to the feedback, NetEase reversed the decision within 24 hours, confirming that ranks will remain unchanged for the remainder of Season 1.
Players will now need to complete 10 competitive matches by season’s end to qualify for new rewards, including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor for top-tier players.
The February 21 update will still introduce The Thing and Human Torch to the roster, completing the Fantastic Four lineup in the game.
