Marvel Comics Adds the Wizard and Frightful Four to First Steps Tie‑Ins

Overview

• Fantastic Four: First Foes – The Wizard #1 goes on sale December 9 and is written by Fabian Nicieza with art by Mark Buckingham.
• The one-shot officially brings Bentley Wittman, the Wizard, into the First Steps film world and introduces a new Frightful Four incarnation, though members have not been revealed.
• The issue serves as the finale of the five-part First Foes line and completes Mark Buckingham’s run as artist across all installments.
• Marvel released variant covers by Phil Noto, Betsy Cola and Mark Buckingham and opened preorders through local comic shops to appeal to collectors.
• The First Foes one-shots are original short stories set inside Earth-828 that expand the film’s backstory and deepen the collaboration between Marvel Comics and Marvel Studios, which may lead to more direct comic tie‑ins for the cinematic universe.
