Overview

  • The terminal, developed with Haryana Orbital Rail Corporation Ltd as part of the 126 km Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor, spans 46 acres inside Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar plant and features four electrified rake lines plus an engine escape track totalling 8.2 km.
  • Once fully operational, the siding can dispatch up to 450,000 vehicles annually to 17 hubs across 380 Indian cities and to export ports at Mundra and Pipavav, reducing dependence on road freight.
  • Maruti Suzuki has invested Rs 452 crore in the project, allocating Rs 325 crore to corridor development and Rs 127 crore to internal yard infrastructure.
  • Full-capacity operations are expected to cut 175,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions, save 60 million litres of fuel and remove approximately 65,000 truck trips each year.
  • The new facility will bolster Maruti Suzuki’s plan to raise its rail-based dispatch share from 24.3% in FY2024-25 to 35% by FY2030-31, aligning with India’s Net Zero by 2070 commitment.
