Overview
- Police responded at 1:41 p.m. to reports of a fight at an apartment complex on Fig Tree Lane in Martinez.
- As officers headed to the scene, callers reported a stabbing and officers arrived in about three minutes.
- The victim, identified as 19-year-old Shaniyah Monae Kazee, was found unconscious in the parking lot and later died at John Muir Walnut Creek Medical Center.
- Officers detained 36-year-old Brittney Evanna Kazee nearby and booked her into the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of murder.
- Martinez police say the investigation is ongoing and ask anyone with information to contact Detective Rubio.
