Marriott Brings City Express to Asia Pacific With Osaka Conversions for 2026 Reopening

A franchise deal with Pacifica Hotels introduces the midscale brand to Japan through two rebranded properties in Nishinari-ku.

  • Pacifica Hotels G. K. signed a franchise agreement with Marriott International to convert two existing Osaka hotels to City Express by Marriott.
  • The properties are slated to reopen in Spring 2026 as City Express by Marriott Osaka Namba South and City Express by Marriott Osaka Shin-Imamiya.
  • Shin-Imamiya is planned as a nine-story hotel with 100 rooms adjacent to Shin-Imamiya Station for JR, Nankai, and Osaka Metro access.
  • Osaka Namba South is planned as a 14-story hotel with 143 rooms next to Hanazonochō Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line.
  • Pacifica and its subsidiary Shin Imamiya Hospitality will operate the hotels, with Marriott positioning the brand for value-focused growth using Marriott Bonvoy.
