Overview

  • Wayans and producing partner Rick Alvarez will develop the series through Ugly Baby Productions alongside Craig and Clara Plestis’ Smart Dog Media in collaboration with MBC Korea.
  • Per the official logline, well-known actors will tell chilling yet comedic stories with cinematic reenactments as a hidden “mystic audience” lights candles when frightened, and the celebrity with the most candles wins.
  • The project is in development with producers attached, and no U.S. network, distributor, episode order, or premiere date has been announced.
  • Smart Dog is drawing on its track record adapting MBC’s King of Mask Singer into Fox’s The Masked Singer.
  • MBC’s original series is in its fifth season with a youthful, digital-first audience on OTT and YouTube, and Ugly Baby is concurrently producing Scary Movie 6 for a June 12, 2026 theatrical release with Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Regina Hall, and Anna Faris.
