The Miami Marlins have signed right-handed pitcher Cal Quantrill to a one-year contract to bolster their starting rotation.
Quantrill, who turned 30 this week, has a career record of 43-34 with a 4.07 ERA across six MLB seasons with the Padres, Guardians, and Rockies.
The Marlins' rotation faced setbacks this offseason, losing Jesús Luzardo in a trade and Braxton Garrett to a season-ending UCL injury.
Quantrill's durability and experience, including four seasons with at least 100 innings pitched, are expected to complement Miami's younger arms.
In 2024 with the Rockies, Quantrill posted an 8-11 record and a 4.98 ERA, with notable success using his splitter to induce ground balls at Coors Field.
