Marley, Cat with Gift of Empathy, Wins National Cat of the Year

Marley, a rescue cat living in a London safe house for trafficked women, honored for his comforting presence and empathetic nature.

Marley, a seven-year-old black and white cat, was named Cats Protection's National Cat of the Year 2024.
Living at Caritas Bakhita House, a safe house for trafficked women, Marley offers comfort and empathy to its residents.
Marley was adopted from a rescue shelter four years ago after being bullied by another cat in his previous home.
His gentle actions, such as placing a paw on guests' legs, have been the first kindness many women at the house have experienced in years.
Marley's recognition includes a trophy and a £200 pet store voucher, awarded at a ceremony hosted by Dawn O’Porter.
