Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, recently underwent surgery for a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury, which he sustained while training for a mixed martial arts (MMA) fight.
The injury is expected to delay Zuckerberg's plans to compete in an MMA fight. He has been training in the martial arts since 2020 and won gold and silver medals at his first Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition in May.
Elon Musk, CEO of X, previously challenged Zuckerberg to a cage fight. Although both have expressed interest in the event, no fight has been scheduled and Zuckerberg has called into question Musk's seriousness about the challenge.
The recovery time for an ACL tear, a common injury among athletes, typically ranges between six and nine months.
Zuckerberg received messages of support from several prominent sports figures, such as former NFL cornerback Darrelle Revis and UFC champions Henry Cejudo and Jon Jones.
