Mark Sanchez Charged With Felony Battery as Stabbing Victim Sues Him and Fox

Prosecutors cite surveillance in an active inquiry into a parking dispute that left both men seriously injured.

Overview

  • Delivery driver Perry Tole, 69, filed a civil suit seeking compensatory and punitive damages and accusing Fox of negligent hiring, retention and supervision.
  • Sanchez pleaded not guilty to a Level 5 felony battery charge, which carries a potential one to six years in prison, and also faces misdemeanor counts including public intoxication and unlawful entry of a vehicle.
  • A police affidavit says Sanchez smelled of alcohol, accosted Tole at a downtown hotel loading dock, entered the truck without permission and shoved the driver, who used pepper spray and then a knife in what he says was self-defense.
  • Marion County prosecutor Ryan Mears described the clash as a dispute over parking and said the investigation remains active with multiple videos reviewed and search warrants outstanding.
  • Tole is recovering at home after a deep facial laceration he says caused permanent disfigurement, while Fox replaced Sanchez on Sunday’s Colts–Raiders broadcast and has not issued a substantive comment on the lawsuit.
