Overview
- Multiple outlets published reports in early October that Match of the Day co-presenters Mark Chapman and Kelly Cates are romantically involved.
- Chapman’s ex‑girlfriend Clere Collier has publicly accused him of an overlap between relationships after their April split and Chapman is reported to deny any cheating.
- Neither Chapman nor Cates has given an on‑the‑record confirmation and news organisations say they have sought comment from the presenters’ representatives.
- The story has drawn attention because Chapman and Cates are high‑profile BBC hosts who began sharing Match of the Day duties in 2025 and who have appeared together on Celebrity Gogglebox.
- Colleagues and pundits have reacted publicly and the next developments to watch include any statements from the presenters, BBC comment, and how the pairing affects workplace dynamics at BBC Sport.
