Overview

  • Mario Paint is now accessible to Nintendo Switch Online members on both Switch and Switch 2 after a July 29 update.
  • The game mandates mouse control, supported by Joy-Con 2’s built-in mouse mode on Switch 2 or any compatible USB mouse on the original Switch.
  • All 19 tracks from Mario Paint’s original 28-minute soundtrack have been released today on the Nintendo Music app.
  • Nintendo has extended mouse support to other SNES titles in the service, including Mario’s Super Picross and Nobunaga’s Ambition.
  • The re-release faithfully preserves Mario Paint’s creative suite, offering drawing tools, animation frames, music composition and the Gnat Attack minigame.
