Overview
- Nintendo confirmed its first Mario Kart World event will run on August 23 from 08:00 to 10:00 UTC, marking the franchise’s inaugural in-game leaderboard competition.
- Racers will compete in 150cc tours with normal items, no CPU opponents, and must post their best times to secure a spot in the top 100 or as the leading player for each character.
- The “Search for an Event” feature (accessed by pressing “–”) accepts event ID 2378, enabling players to practice under official event conditions ahead of race day.
- Although Nintendo’s site lists the event for Japanese audiences at 5:00–7:00 pm JST, the practice code appears to work globally without separate announcements from Nintendo of America or Nintendo UK.
- After the event, Nintendo will showcase the top 100 finishers and the top performer per character on its official site, giving racers community recognition.
