Overview

  • Mario Kart World launched June 5 on Nintendo Switch 2 with a Free Roam open-world mode linking interconnected Mushroom Kingdom circuits.
  • Online racers discovered that voting for “Random” between courses bypasses lengthy intermission segments and delivers straight into three-lap races.
  • The release introduces charge jumps, rail grinding and wall riding to build speed boosts, unlock shortcuts and deepen track navigation both online and in Free Roam.
  • Accessibility options such as Smart Steering (enabled by default), Auto-Accelerate and Auto-Use Item can be toggled off during vehicle selection or mid-race.
  • Local split-screen and online multiplayer support Grand Prix cups, the 24-player Knockout Tour and Battles with shared Free Roam-style lobbies while matches load.
