Overview

  • Version 1.2.0, released July 29, increases the frequency of traditional three-lap courses in VS Race and wireless modes to restore circuit-style gameplay.
  • CPU opponents have been weakened in all modes except Battle, a move that some players say makes the game feel too easy.
  • Key items were rebalanced by reducing Boomerang homing, lowering the odds of Triple Dash Mushrooms for trailing racers and raising the chance of ? Blocks under non-Frantic rules.
  • New options include “No COM” and “Mushrooms only” race rules, spectator selection, replay viewing, waiting-time displays and Free Roam collectible color changes.
  • The patch fixes dozens of glitches, and players have uncovered an unannounced increase in trick landing speed boosts that is reshaping time trial records.
