Overview
- Luca Marini set the FP1 benchmark at 1:30.809, with Pedro Acosta second (+0.136) and Marco Bezzecchi third after leading much of the session.
- Newly crowned champion Marc Marquez finished fifth as Francesco Bagnaia placed 17th, both sticking with used hard-front and medium-rear tyres.
- Yamaha’s Alex Rins took fourth on heavily used rubber, completing a top five that included Honda, KTM, Aprilia, Yamaha and Ducati.
- Michelin confirmed a slight revision to the medium front compound for Mandalika, and many riders ran less-favoured tyres on a hot, slippery surface.
- Fermin Aldeguer suffered a low-side but was unhurt, and absentees Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura remain out for the weekend due to injury.
