Overview
- The five-day centennial fair runs through Sunday, July 6, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the San Rafael fairgrounds with classic carnival rides including a giant ferris wheel.
- The Marin Cultural Association–sponsored Community Stage hosts local dance troupes, bands and poetry readings by Marin’s poet laureate.
- A new MCA Art Studio in the Exhibit Hall leads visitors through hands-on origami making alongside the “Origami Bug Out” display of paper insects.
- The Butterfly Encounter exhibit lets guests feed live butterflies which are released into the wild at day’s end.
- Nightly fireworks over the lagoon begin at 9:30 p.m., capping off each evening of the celebration.
