• Carey will reveal MC16’s official title, tracklist and release date on July 21 following her social media teaser captioned “MC16 – Announcement Tomorrow.”
• A video montage on X and Instagram Stories traced her career from MC1 through MC15 before ending on an empty cover box labeled MC16.
• In a June Apple Music interview Carey confirmed the album is complete, marking the end of a seven-year gap since her last studio effort Caution.
• She rolled out lead single “Type Dangerous” in June accompanied by a remix EP featuring Big Sean, DJ Snake and Method Man, and previewed a new track “Sugar Sweet.”
• MC16 will be Carey’s debut release under her gamma imprint in partnership with Apple Music.
