Mariah Carey Plans to Release Long-Lost Grunge Album

The pop icon's 1995 grunge project, recorded alongside 'Daydream,' remains unreleased but may soon see the light of day.

Mariah Carey recorded a secret grunge album, 'Someone’s Ugly Daughter,' in 1995 while working on her hit record 'Daydream.'
The album was initially released under the pseudonym Chick with her friend Clarissa Dane on lead vocals, but Carey's vocals were credited as 'D. Sue.'
Carey expressed frustration over the album's unreleased status and is considering independent release options, such as using Garage Band.
The original recordings with Carey as the lead vocalist still exist, and she has hinted at plans to collaborate with another artist on the project.
Carey's desire to release the album was partly inspired by her experiences during a difficult period in her life, including her marriage to Tommy Mottola.
