• Carey will accept the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award during the Sept. 7 telecast from UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
• LL Cool J will host the ceremony, a full-circle moment since Carey presented him the Vanguard Award in 1997.
• For the first time, the VMAs will air live in all U.S. time zones on CBS with a simulcast on MTV and live streaming on Paramount+.
• Carey’s 16th album, Here For It All, arrives Sept. 26, and her single Type Dangerous is nominated for Best R&B this year.
• The appearance will be her first VMAs performance since 2005, when she last took the stage with We Belong Together.
