Maria Sakkari Replaces Injured Karolina Muchova at WTA Finals

Sakkari, ranked ninth and former semi-finalist, set to make her third consecutive appearance at the season-ending tournament.

Due to an injured right wrist, French Open runner-up Karolina Muchova has withdrawn from the WTA Finals, giving her place to Maria Sakkari.
Muchova's withdrawal came despite efforts by her team and doctors to address the wrist injury in time for the tournament.
Sakkari, currently ranked ninth, was the first alternate for the tournament and will now be making her third consecutive appearance at the WTA Finals.
Last year at the WTA Finals, Sakkari reached the semi-finals with a 3-0 record in round-robin play.
Other players qualified for the event include Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula, Marketa Vondrousova, and Ons Jabeur.
