Marco Odermatt Clinches Fourth Straight Overall and Giant Slalom World Cup Titles

The Swiss skier secured his place in history by becoming the second man to win four consecutive alpine skiing World Cup overall titles.

  • Odermatt secured his fourth consecutive overall crystal globe by finishing second in a giant slalom race in Hafjell, Norway, behind teammate Loic Meillard.
  • With 1,596 points in the overall standings and a 635-point lead over Henrik Kristoffersen, Odermatt cannot be overtaken with five races remaining this season.
  • This victory also ensured Odermatt's fourth small crystal globe in the giant slalom discipline and follows his earlier win of the super-G title this season.
  • Odermatt is only the second male skier in history, after Austria's Marcel Hirscher, to win four consecutive overall World Cup titles.
  • The Hafjell race saw a Swiss podium sweep, with Meillard winning by 0.14 seconds ahead of Odermatt and Thomas Tumler finishing third.
